The WVSS hosts a variety of events throughout the year. All events are free to attend for active members of the organization. Below are past events hosted by WVSS:

  • 304 Day Happy Hour (2026)

    The West Virginia State Society hosted members, sponsors, and guests for a casual happy hour at Problem Child in Navy Yard. Attendees mingled over beverages and snacks.

  • Fall Happy Hour (2025)

    We hosted our Fall 2025 Happy Hour at Tap 99 in Navy Yard, where DMV-based West Virginians and guests were able to mingle and meet over drinks.

  • West Virginia Birthday Party (2025)

    Each year, the West Virginia State Society celebrates West Virginia’s statehood anniversary (June 20) on Capitol Hill. In 2025, we were honored to be joined by members of the West Virginia congressional delegation at our annual reception.

  • Welcome to the 119th Congress (2025)

    When a new Congress begins, the West Virginia State Society gives them a WV welcome! To ring in the 119th, WVSS hosted members and guests for a happy hour at Union Pub on Capitol Hill.

  • Holiday Reception (2024)

    In 2024, West Virginia was honored to supply the Congressional Christmas Tree! To celebrate the Monongahela Forest’s finest, we hosted a merry reception for DMV-based West Virginians to celebrate!
