Seth Gainer is Vice President for Public Policy at Comcast NBCUniversal. Seth spent over a decade working on behalf of West Virginia for Senators John D. Rockefeller IV and Joe Manchin III, where he played a key role on the Senate Appropriations Committee and was instrumental in crafting major legislation including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Following his time on Capitol Hill, he served at the U.S. Department of Transportation as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, overseeing economic aviation issues ranging from U.S. Open Skies Agreements to subsidies for small and rural communities. A proud native of Elkins, WV, Seth graduated summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and History from West Virginia University, where he was a recipient of the Order of Augusta. He also holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) degree from Georgetown University. Seth currently resides in Hyattsville, MD with his wife and two large dogs, plays guitar in a local country band, and strongly believes that “Country Roads” is the most popular song in the world.
